Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. The city has been finishing up replacing the parking meters downtown completely with meters that will accept debit and credit cards along with coins. They should be finished replacing the old meters soon. (Huntsville)
  2. Point Mallard Park is looking to hire new lifeguards. There are several other positions open, such as working in the concession stand or the gift shop, but there’s an emphasis on new lifeguards. (WAFF)
  3. There will be work done soon on Keel Mountain Road. A small portion of the road that includes a steep slope will be taken down to one lane while work is being done. It is expected to be completed by the time school starts. This phase of the work will be 80% funded by grants. (WHNT)
  4. A new memorial has been created at the Madison County Nature Trail. The memorial was built by a worker at the nature trail for the outdoor classroom. (WAAY)
