Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- City Councilman Bill Kling wants to give every city employee a one-time $300 payment to help ease the inflation and gas price rises. Councilwoman Akridge has claimed that this is an election year move that wouldn’t actually help. This would not be possible until the new fiscal year, which starts in September. (WAAY)
- The HPD is hosting another recruitment open house Wednesday! These events are informal and give possible recruits a chance to talk to officers. They are currently taking applications. (Patch)
- The VBC Propst Arena’s exterior work finished up last month! They were able to showcase the new look at the first concert of the Concerts in the Park series! (WHNT)
- Gas prices are rising in Huntsville once again. They went up an average of over 26 cents in town last week alone. GasBuddy puts this at 59 cents higher than prices last month. (WAAY)
