Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- The Artemis I Mission finally got to launch Wednesday morning at around 12:47 CST. It was occupied by mannequins that will help gather information for future manned missions. CNN has a photo from Orion that was taken around nine hours after the launch in the full article. (CNN)
- According to AL.com, Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling has been allegedly operating a short-term rental in the guest house behind his home on Airbnb and VRBO, despite an ordinance prohibiting just that within the city. The mayor has commented on the issue, saying he will "just have to man up and deal with it." According to the WHNT article, Bowling has confirmed he does not have a business license for the operation. His guesthouse is no longer listed on either site. (WHNT News 19)
- The Pryor Field Airport Authority has announced that the first-ever North Alabama Airfest will be at the Pryor Field Regional Airport. The inaugural event is set for 2023 and will highlight the Valley's history with the aviation industry. (News Courier)
- Skating in the Park will be back at Big Spring Park starting tomorrow! It will be located behind the Museum of Art. Make sure to get your time on the ice before it is gone again after Jan. 8. (WHNT News 19)
