- Huntsville City Council and Huntsville Community Development have set July 1 as the eviction date for the homeless population at the Derrick Street homeless camp. Local homelessness advocates have threatened legal action over the closure of the biggest homeless camp in the city. (WHNT)
- The City of Huntsville has released a list of some of the events around the city to celebrate Juneteenth. There are events that are family-friendly, and adult-only events that range from music, to block parties, to more educational events, so make sure to check out the full list to find out how you can celebrate! - The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking customers to participate in a voluntary curtailment of power usage due to the heat wave. This means asking that you turn off lights in rooms you aren’t in, unplugging things you aren’t using, and limiting your use of major appliances to the evenings. They expect this to last through Friday. (Huntsville Utilities)
- Tory Green, a Huntsville native, is being honored by the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Green will be part of the inaugural class of the National Alumni Hall of Fame. (WAFF)
