- The Orion Amphitheater, Manna House, Publix, and WAAY 31 are working together for a Stomp Out Hunger food drive! On September 17, the drive will be held from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the south parking lot of the Orion. There will be an event including face painting, carnival games, snow cones, and tours! Entry is free (WAAY)
- Jazz in the Park will be back for the first time since before the start of the pandemic! Cynthia Joiner Real Estate will be presenting the event. This year’s Jazz in the Park concert series will help establish the Bernard Lockhart Music Education Scholarship! (WAFF)
- President Biden is set to appoint Dr. Patricia G. Sims, Drake State’s president, to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council. Dr. Sims will be the only Alabama appointee on the council. (WAFF)
- Huntsville could get a light rail on University Drive! They need to prove that residents would make use of it, so they need to see the daily rider number get up to 3000 on a single line. They currently see up to 2,500 riders on single lines, so it is probable that the goal could be reached in the next five years. (WAFF)
