Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- A former Decatur teacher has agreed to pay $100,000 in restitution to the school system. Carrie Witt pled guilty to having sex with a minor student, and the school system had to keep paying her at the time until her termination could be processed. (WAFF)
- Union Chapel Missionary Baptist will be handing out 400 food boxes this weekend. This will be Saturday starting at 8 a.m., and it is first come first served. (WHNT)
- United Women of Color, a Madison County nonprofit that advocates for women of color, has offered to pay half of the cost to allow the registered voter list to be put in a second publication, Speakin’ Out News, a free, Black-owned publication in Huntsville. The Madison County Commission discussed the high cost of allowing publications other than the Huntsville Times to publish the list on March 30. (Alabama Political Reporter)
