- Did you know there will be a football game at Toyota Field (home to the Trash Pandas during baseball season). The first game in the venue’s history will be an in-state rivalry game between the University of North Alabama and Jacksonville State University. The venue is being reconfigured for the game and is expected to have a 10,000 fan capacity. (MiLB.com)
- The 51st Soldier for Life-Retiree Appreciation Day will be October 20-21. This benefits update/health fair event, hosted by the Garrison and the Fox Army Health Center, will be at Heiser Hall and the Community Activity Center. (Theredstonerocket)
- The Oak Place historic antebellum mansion, owned by the East Huntsville Baptist Church, has been sold. The home will be transformed into a venue that will be used for weddings and other events. Currently, the buyer has not been named. (AL.com)
