Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Employees near the Redstone Army were asked to shelter in place after a gas leak was detected nearby. As of Friday afternoon, they have been given the all-clear by the Arsenal. (WAAY)
- Huntsville High School was evacuated Friday morning due to a bomb threat. After the Huntsville City Schools security team and local law enforcement investigated and found nothing of merit, everyone was allowed back into the building. (WAFF)
- The City of Huntsville has confirmed that we will be getting a brand-new recreation center at John Hunt Park! City Council approved the decision to allow Mayor Tommy Battle to enter into an agreement with a company for architectural and engineering design. (City of Huntsville, Alabama)
