Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Employees near the Redstone Army were asked to shelter in place after a gas leak was detected nearby. As of Friday afternoon, they have been given the all-clear by the Arsenal. (WAAY)
  2. Huntsville High School was evacuated Friday morning due to a bomb threat. After the Huntsville City Schools security team and local law enforcement investigated and found nothing of merit, everyone was allowed back into the building. (WAFF)
  3. The City of Huntsville has confirmed that we will be getting a brand-new recreation center at John Hunt Park! City Council approved the decision to allow Mayor Tommy Battle to enter into an agreement with a company for architectural and engineering design. (City of Huntsville, Alabama)
  4. WHNT News 19 has started its "Great Diaper Drive" for 2022! Now through Nov. 11, you can donate diapers at these Walmart locations. They will also host a Blitz Day on Nov. 10 at the Walmart on Madison Boulevard. (WHNT News 19)
