Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- There was a gas leak outside Mae Jemison High School that caused the high school, as well as McNair Jr. High School, to evacuate Friday. The leak has been repaired and students were allowed back in the school. (WAFF)
- On Monday, August 15, the Huntsville Career Center is hosting a job fair. They are hiring Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants. The fair will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (The Quad-Cities Daily)
- Lifesouth will be hosting a blood drive Tuesday for Huntsville Hospital at the main medical center on Sivley Road. Donors will receive a $20 gift card of their choice for donating. They will be following Huntsville Hospital’s masking policy. (WHNT News 19)
- Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre is going to host a sensory-friendly showing of three productions this season. They will include dimming and leaving the house lights on throughout the show, fidget toys, and lowered visual and sound effects. Their goal is for anyone with Autism or any other sensory issues to be able to enjoy the show. (WHNT News 19)
