Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Madison County election results are starting to come in. As of writing, many results have not come in. WHNT has separate pages for county-based results and statewide results, so I’ve included both. By the time you wake up, most if not all results should be in! (WHNT - Madison County, WHNT - Statewide)
  2. A portion of Big Cove Road today for service line replacement and repairs. The area will be between Hopkins Street and Olive Drive and will be closed starting at 8 a.m. and is expected to be closed for between six and eight hours. (WHNT News 19)
  3. The Huntsville City Council held an Oath of Office ceremony Monday for Districts 2, 3 and 4. They held a special meeting after the ceremony to elect officers.
    1. John Meredith was voted Council President
    2. Bill Kling was chosen as Third Presiding Officer
    3. Dr. Jennie Robinson was named Council President Pro Tem
