- Greater Huntsville Humane Society is hosting their Annual Community Day on July 16! This is the third year for the event, where they will have things like a chip-a-thon, spay and neuter scheduling, King’s Kitchen, and discounted routine pet care from Rocket City Veterinary Hospital! (WHNT)
- Free 2 Teach is opening today to help teachers plan for the upcoming year! If you teach at a public school in Madison County, you can make an appointment to shop the store for free to help you stock your classroom. (WAFF)
- On July 1, Neil Lamb started serving as HudsonAlpha’s new president! Richard Myers has been named the chief scientific officer and president emeritus, and Kelly East is the new VP for educational outreach. (Alabama NewsCenter)

- Old Highway 431 will be closed tomorrow (July 12) for sewer upgrades. The closure will be from The Meadows Blvd SE to the intersection of 431 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (WAFF)
