Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- Chapman Hollow Road in Limestone County is closed. District 4 County Commissioner LaDon Townsend made the decision to close the road due to flooding. (WAAY)
- Power is still out as of writing this in parts of the Huntsville area. Huntsville Utilities tweeted at 3:28 this morning that they were responding to outages in Northwest Huntsville after resolving all other power outage issues. (Huntsville Utilities)
- Governor Ivey has written a letter to the AHSAA to try and get some answers for the Oakwood Adventist Academy basketball team. Her letter asks several questions about their decision-making process and if the public perception is accurate to the events. (WHNT)
- The UAH College of Nursing is attempting to figure out if it is possible to use drones in rural medical care. One thing they tested was getting necessary medication and a testing kit for a woman at risk for preterm labor at a hospital that did not have these supplies on hand. To make this possible, there would have to be approval from the FAA. (Patch)
- Britley Leonard Brown has announced she will be running for district judge. Brown is in good standing with both the Alabama Bar and the Limestone County Bar Associations. The primary election is set for May 24. (WHNT)
