  1. Jessye Gaines, a teacher at Bob Jones, was finally able to celebrate being honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Washington D.C. Gaines actually received the award in 2020, but due to the pandemic the ceremony was held virtually that year. (themadisonrecord.com)
  2. The City of Huntsville has left the fate of the historic Five Points oak tree up in the air after the neighborhood asked for a second opinion. They currently have three new outside arborist opinions that the city can review to determine if the tree can be saved. (WAAY)
  3. Lockheed Martin broke ground on a new $16.5 million facility Monday. The addition will be a 25,000 square foot Missile System Integration Lab. (WHNT)
  4. Arts Huntsville and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up for a 4th of July Concerts in the Park event! The concert will be two performances, Peruvian Coin and JED Eye, and the event will be free to the public. (WAFF)
  5. Grissom High School’s fishing team won the state championship at the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association. They will now move on to compete in the national championship competition in August. (WHNT)
