Blossomwood Elementary School Student Shot In Hand
Police have gathered at Huntsville's Blossomwood Elementary School where initial reports say a student was shot.

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Police gathered at Blossomwood Elementary School in Huntsville Monday morning, reports say a student was transported to Huntsville Hospital after being shot in the hand.
The Huntsville Police Department issued a statement at around 11 a.m. on social media saying, "We are aware of an investigation going on at Blossomwood Elementary. The situation is safe at this time. "
Huntsville Police Chief Mark McMurray said the student who brought the gun did not mean to hurt anyone and brought the gun to school as “show and tell.”

A report from WAAY in Hunstville said a student was shot in the hand and the injuries are not life-threatening.
