Here are the top five stories in Huntsville today:
- Town Madison has several businesses and an apartment complex under construction right now, but they expect nearly $1 billion more worth of investments from companies wanting to be a part of the excitement that comes with being beside Toyota Field. Breland Companies says that this should happen within the next year and a half, and their end goal is to offer houses, apartments, plenty of restaurant options, and hotels all around Toyota Field! - Tommy Brown, the Director of Parking and Public Transit, is set to retire later this month after 40 years serving Huntsville. Brown is credited with bringing in public transportation and significantly expanding parking options downtown. (Huntsville)
- Carry the Load Relay is stopping in Huntsville on Saturday in an effort to bring attention to Memorial Day. Huntsville is one of 32 stops, and the funds will go towards awareness and care and education programs to help service members and their families. (AL.com)
- Becky Harris is the new CFO of Hexagon. Harris graduated from UAH in 1995 and took a job with what is now Hexagon 25 years ago and has worked her way up. (UAH)
- Franklin County’s K9 Mambo has a new bullet and stab protective vest. The vest was donated through Vested interest in K9s by Jeff Trainor of Charlton, Massachusetts. (WAFF)
