Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Madison City Schools has approved a new COVID-19 Mask Matrix to determine how they roll into masks becoming optional in their schools. According to the matrix, high schools will become mask optional Monday, and lower grades will follow shortly. (WAFF)
  2. Broadway Theatre League is finally back at the VBC! They started shows this week in the South Hall for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. (WAAY)
  3. The HPD released the body cam footage for the officer-involved shooting of Crystal Ragland from 2019. This came after the federal court heard both parties and decided it would be released. (Patch)
  4. Drake State has launched a welding bootcamp! This eight-hour course will cost $300, and registration ends November 12. (WHNT)
  5. Community of Hope, a nonprofit in Huntsville, presented their goals Thursday night. They are currently trying to raise $1.5 million to buy a 50-acre plot somewhere in Madison County, so they can build a tiny home community that would provide permanent housing to help the homeless population in the area.
