- Huntsville native Jim Parsons made history this week receiving pig kidneys. Parsons was tragically declared brain dead after an accident in September, but has become the person to receive two genetically modified pig kidneys, and what scientists learn from Parsons could change transplants as we know them. - Chef Adyre Mason starred in “Beat Bobby Flay” in her Food Network debut last night! Mason’s Huntsville restaurant, The Veggie, opened last year and is the largest all-vegan full-service restaurant in the city. Unfortunately, Mason was not chosen to continue into round two to compete against Bobby Flay, but being on the show for a fully vegan episode is nothing shy of amazing. Congrats Chef Mason! - James Clemens students in the Science National Honor Society are putting on a science fair March 3, but not for the high school students. - Huntsville received $1.35 million from the Alabama Transportation and Rehabilitation and Improvement Program. The money will be used for the project to widen Governor’s Drive. (WHNT)
