Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. UAH was named one of 26 named as 2022 Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award winners. They were the only college given the award this year, and they also received the award back in 2018. (Patch)
  2. A Huntsville man arrested for allegedly committing home repair fraud in Decatur. According to WHNT, several citizens contacted the police after paying for a licensed contractor to finish work on their homes, but the jobs never got done and their money was not returned. Johnny Ray Jordan, who is actually not a licensed contractor in Alabama, has been arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of forged instruments and two counts of home repair fraud.   3. The parking situation for Madison’s Star Spangled Celebration at Dublin Park on July 2 has been changed. Instead of parking at Bob Jones, it will be at the MCS Stadium, and shuttle services will begin at 4:30 to move people from the stadium to Dublin Park. (themadisonrecord.com)
  4. A Huntsville native was honored as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. Karen Miga was a Buckhorn graduate, and was named to the list in recognition of her work on the Human Genome Project. (WHNT)
  5. Drake State is hosting robotics camps for middle and high schoolers this summer. The middle school deadline has been extended until July 7 and the high school camp will be held July 9. (WHNT)
