Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- Huntsville Animal Services is hosting a “superhero reunion" for past and present fosters, volunteers, and adopters. Until then, they’ve decided to extend the free adoptions for most adult animals until then! (WHNT News 19)
- The Madison Street Festival is back after two years delaying the 40th anniversary. It will be Saturday, October 1, with “Celebrate” as the theme! (WHNT News 19)
- As of yesterday, the average gas price in the area is down to $3.69 per gallon according to GasBuddy. This is below the national average, which is at $4.01 per gallon. (WAAY)
- A wreck caused a power outage after a vehicle landed on a power line Monday morning. Huntsville Utilities had to make some repairs to the line, but power was restored within a few hours. There were no injuries. (WAAY)
- The Families and Schools Together (FAST) Program is celebrating 25 years of helping families support their students’ education while also helping prevent child neglect. Families looking to have support can join one of the three six-week cohorts throughout the school year. (WHNT News 19)
