Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- A Heritage Elementary student will be on the Today Show this morning at 8 a.m. Maelin Carlson is going on the show to meet her life-saving bone marrow donor for the first time. (WAFF)
- All municipal offices will be closed tomorrow and Friday for Thanksgiving. This includes HAS, rec centers, and garbage will be collected Friday. (WAAY)
- A change to the budgeting process for Huntsville will allow council members to have more input in the creation of the budget. This will mean the needs of constituents will be considered before plans are made rather than after, when there’s time constraints to finalize. (WAFF)
- A bridge off of Brashiers Drive in Arab will be reopening by the end of this week. This bridge collapsed after flooding in October, and the current detour adds five minutes to commute, including emergency vehicles. (WAAY)
- Athens will be bringing a new steel company to the area. This is a $30 million investment from the company and will bring in around 100 new jobs. (WAFF)
