Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Huntsville is in the range to get 2-3 inches of rain from Hurricane Ida. The worst of it should come through Tuesday afternoon, but rain is set to start today from the outer bands of the storm. (AL.com)
- Columbia High School has announced that they will be transitioning to remote learning for the week. Traditional students are expected to be able to return after the Labor Day weekend. (WHNT)
- The Bojangles restaurants in the Huntsville area are not following company-wide closures. Bojangles has decided to close today and September 13 to give their employees a break, but Huntsville people will still be able to get their chicken. (WAFF)
- Dr. Suzy Young, the UAH Office for Proposal Development Director, has been named to the National Drone Association Board. According to Steve Johnson at WHNT, Dr. Young aims to make all the fantasies we’ve heard about drones making life easier come true. (WHNT)
- 305 Eighth Street’s annual block party will allow them to help residents that can’t afford to pay what it costs to house them. Nothing But Noodles is also running a fundraiser where a portion of their profits September 12 between 4-9 p.m. will be donated to 305 Eighth Street’s efforts to house individuals with special needs.
