Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. The Huntsville City Schools Board of Education has approved over $7 million in upgrades to their facilities. Jemison will be getting $3.4 million for renovations to their sports complex, Highlands will receive $2.4 million for new HVAC units, and $1.8 million will go to Milton Frank Stadium for upgrades.   2. The Village of Promise is hosting their annual Thanksgiving feast to feed 3,000 people. Unlike last year’s drive-thru event, this year will be in-person at Big Spring! (WAAY)
  3. The Athens Buc-ee’s has broken ground! This location will likely employ over 200 full-time workers and is hopeful to open by the end of next year. (WAAY)
  4. The Chabad of Huntsville was robbed of a nine-foot-tall menorah this week. This is the same congregation that had their property vandalized last year, but as of now, the police don’t expect that the events are connected. (AL.com)
  5. Calhoun's esports program is trying to expand their equipment, but that’s been hard with all of the technology shortages. Right now, the program has enough to use, but will soon need more. (WAAY)
