Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- According to Madison City Schools Superintendent Dr. Nichols, there were 89 positive cases of COVID this week in the school system. This has resulted in far fewer close contacts being sent home to quarantine, however, due to the changed ADPH definition of a close contact. (themadisonrecord.com)
- Huntsville Hospital is prepared to start giving out COVID-19 booster shots as soon as they are given the green light. Officials believe they will have more information Monday on when they will be approved. (WAFF)
- Redstone Arsenal has decided to transition to Level Bravo+ due to rising COVID-19 numbers. This means certain things will be limited, such as open lanes, dining capacities, and work capacities. (WHNT)
- The FBI is currently in search of a local small business to contract to do maintenance, minor construction, and projects at their Arsenal location. Bids are being accepted until August 27. (Patch)
- A GoFundMe has been set up by a “Concerned Citizen” to raise money to pay for Mike Blakely’s legal fees from his theft and ethics charges and maintain his farm. The campaign has raised over $11,000 as of writing. (WAFF)
