1. Today is a First Alert Weather day, and the EMA is already at work to make sure they are as efficient as possible at getting alerts and warnings out. People are on standby to clear roads and handle other things that can happen with bad weather. (WAAY)
2. Shelters in the area have already experienced a rise in pet surrenders or calls from families that are planning to surrender their pet after Christmas. This is something that happens every year after families adopt or are gifted a pet for Christmas that they were not prepared to care for. (WAFF)
