Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

1. Madison County has reached 39% fully vaccinated residents. On top of that, 48% of the population have at least had their first dose! (WHNT)
2. Jackson County Health Care Authority has announced that they will be merging with the Huntsville Hospital System. Their agreement will go into effect October 1 of this year. (WZDX)
3. The historic Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Decatur slated for demolition Monday. It has been standing over 110 years, but has been empty for several years. (WAFF)
4. The Huntsville High School Band is trying to raise funds to replace their 20-year-old equipment truck. Donations to their GoFundMe will be matched up to $10,000 until September 1! (WZDX)
5. The state has recommended that former Sheriff Mike Blakely serve in a jail not in Limestone County. They also filed that he should serve three years in prison, two years of probation, and he should not be sentenced to “hard labor.” (WAFF)
