Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Huntsville Hospital will be reopening their community vaccination clinic at John Hunt Park. The clinic will reopen August 18 and will serve anyone over 12 with the Pfizer vaccine. (WAFF)
  2. Sluice Fest, Huntsville’s new music festival, will be the place to find new bands to listen to! This is going to be a festival that spans three stages and two venues and will be this weekend. (AL.com)
  3. Schools in the area are setting their COVID-19 rules for this year’s sporting events. Many systems are deferring to the state athletic associations’ guidelines, but WHNT has compiled a list you can see at the link. (WHNT)
  4. Crestwood Medical Center has now also decided to limit inpatient visitation due to the rising COVID numbers. Inpatients will be allowed one visitor that in most cases must be 16, and NICU patients will be allowed two visitors. (WAAY)
  5. The federal government has announced that they have awarded the contract for the new courthouse in Huntsville to Brasfield & Gorrie LLC. Work is set to start in the spring of 2022. (AL.com)
