Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Huntsville Parks and Recreation swim lessons are starting up for spring. The Showers Center lessons start April 5, and the Huntsville Aquatic Center lessons start April 12, and in-person registration will be April 4-8. Both locations will cost $75 for 10 lessons. (Huntsville, AL)
  2. The Huntsville/Madison Parade of Homes starts this weekend. It is free to go, and will be a great place to find some inspiration! (WAFF)
  3. Humpback Bridge over Paint Rock River is closed. The bridge showed deterioration during an inspection, and will be closed long-term while options are weighed. (WAAY)
  4. As of today, Greater Humane Society Huntsville has a new CEO! Spencer Batcheller will take over after being the Director of Animal Care, the COO, and the Interim CEO. He has worked at GHHS since 2019. (WZDX)
  5. Walnut Grove Road is currently closed in Franklin County from the sheriff’s office to the railroad tracks. There is a sinkhole that they are working to fix, but there is no estimated date the road will reopen. (WAAY)
