Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Phase one of a road resurfacing project has been approved by City Council with a vote to agree to let Mayor Battle enter into an agreement with the low bidder to start work! This phase is set to start mid-February and they will have 180 days to complete the work. (Huntsville)
  2. The City of Huntsville has named Matt Mandrella as the new music officer! Mandrella worked as a marketing and projects manager at Graceland, and is originally from Mobile. (WHNT)
  3. Toyota in Huntsville will be building a new engine for an all new Sequoia! The engine will be a hybrid and the project provides job security long-term for factory workers. (AL.com)
  4. If you’re going to the February 5 Havoc game, make sure to bring items to donate to the NICU at Huntsville Hospital! The team is collecting donations and the first 500 people that bring something in will get a t-shirt. The jerseys worn in the game will be auctioned off, and the proceeds donated as well. (WHNT)
  5. Collision shops in Huntsville are seeing heavy delays in getting replacement car parts right now. The increased wait times are not only inconvenient, but may affect what insurance requires to total a vehicle. (WAFF)
