Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. At last night’s city council meeting, four redistricting plans were brought forward. This includes one from the City of Huntsville, with all departments having input. They will have a vote regarding the choice at the December 16 meeting. (WZDX)
  2. Governor Ivey has introduced an upgrade to broadband on the Arsenal. This change aims to make communication in emergencies, such as tornadoes in the area, more efficient for the safety of the country. (WHNT)
  3. Alabama A&M University will be hosting a graduation ceremony December 10 for around 500 graduates. Masks will be required for all attendees, but graduates will be allowed to remove them while they walk across the stage. (WAFF)
  4. Mike Blakely has been approved to travel outside of the state while he is on bail appealing his conviction. He will travel in December to Kentucky for a business meeting and to Oklahoma to receive an award in January. (WHNT)
  5. Erick Wade of Huntsville was recognized by Governor Ivey for his anti-littering efforts. Wade was given the People Against a Littered State (PALS) award at a ceremony in Montgomery. (Patch)
