Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- Huntsville City Councilman Kling is looking to change the sound ordinance. As of now, sound amplification isn’t allowed after 10 p.m. on weekend nights. This affects the growing arts and entertainment scene. Kling’s goal is to start with moving that to 11 p.m. for live music to see if the changes work for residents, and New Years would be allowed to go until 1 a.m. (WHNT)
- Huntsville City Council has approved a second phase of emergency rental assistance! This comes right after funds were exhausted to help residents in the city, and means there will be $4.7 million in funding opened up to residents. (WAFF)
- You’ll soon be able to pay for public transportation in Huntsville on an app! Token Transit will hopefully roll out early next year, and you’ll be able to purchase single-ride and month passes. (WHNT)
- Starting today, Huntsville Museum of Art's Skating in the Park is back! Prices include ice skate rentals, but you’ll get a discount if you bring your own. (WZDX)
- Mojo Jones from the 'Mojo Radio Show' is spending the weekend on the roof of Toyota Field. This is an effort to raise monetary donations as well as get bikes donated to help out families that can’t afford to put presents under the tree this year. Donations are being collected at the field until 6 p.m. Monday. (WAAY)
