  1. Huntsville Utilities has announced they will be raising prices again due to fuel costs. In August, you should expect the cost per kWh to go from around 1.5-2.5 cents to nearly 12 cents. (WAFF)
  2. The new Athens City Councilman representing District 3, James Lucas, was sworn in last night. Lucas was previously on the Athens City BOE and managed to earn the title of longest-serving school board member in the state during his time. (WAFF)
  3. Patrick Tuten has been named to the new circuit judgeship in Madison County that was moved from Jefferson County. His appointment starts immediately. Tuten is coming from a district judgeship. (WHNT)
  4. HEALS, Inc. is teaming up with the Trash Pandas and Tyler Mann Injury Law to host a shoe drive at Saturday’s game. The goal is to help kids go into the new school year with the confidence that comes with a new pair of shoes. Those that donate will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Academy gift card, and the firm has pledged $1 to HEALS, Inc. per pair of shoes donated, with a goal of $3000. (WHNT)
