- Huntsville Utilities is still working on power outages as of writing. There are 989 customers without power, but they are in areas where there is significant equipment damage due to winds. (Huntsville Utilities)
- The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce has named Joe Newberry the Distinguished Service Award Winner at their annual membership meeting. Newberry is the President and CEO of Redstone Federal Credit Union. (Patch)
- The Orion Amphitheater will host a job fair Saturday at Yellowhammer to hire for several positions before they open their doors. Applications can be submitted online ahead of time, and there will be on-site interviews Saturday, with some positions prepared to hire on-the-spot. (themadisonrecord.com)
- The list of registered voters will likely only run in the Huntsville Times paper. A discussion was had about allowing other community papers, such as the free Speakin’ Out News statewide paper based in Huntsville. This would cost an additional $7000, and the commission held off the vote, which makes it unlikely to be done before the primaries on May 24. One publication is required by law to publish a registered voter list. (WHNT)
