1. Huntsville Utilities will be raising their rates in November. There will be about a 14% increase for natural gas users to keep up with the rising price around the world. (WHNT)
2. The Huntsville City Council met last night and Mayor Battle presented a plan for redistricting. The council is also working on a new project, but they’re staying quiet on what it is until the details are ironed out. (WAFF)
3. The third annual Carnival of Giving will be held at Ditto Landing October 30! The carnival is hosted by the Isaiah 41:10 Foundation, and proceeds go to help fight pediatric cancer. (WHNT)
4. Students at Meridianville Middle School were evacuated yesterday for a little while. A fan motor malfunction made some smoke go into a classroom, but the fire department made sure the building was safe and the issue was resolved. (WAFF)
5. The Downtown Huntsville Library is back open! The power is back on and the library is on normal hours again. (WHNT)
