Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- Huntsville Utilities will be raising their rates in November. There will be about a 14% increase for natural gas users to keep up with the rising price around the world. (WHNT)
- The Huntsville City Council met last night and Mayor Battle presented a plan for redistricting. The council is also working on a new project, but they’re staying quiet on what it is until the details are ironed out. (WAFF)
- The third annual Carnival of Giving will be held at Ditto Landing October 30! The carnival is hosted by the Isaiah 41:10 Foundation, and proceeds go to help fight pediatric cancer. (WHNT)
- Students at Meridianville Middle School were evacuated yesterday for a little while. A fan motor malfunction made some smoke go into a classroom, but the fire department made sure the building was safe and the issue was resolved. (WAFF)
- The Downtown Huntsville Library is back open! The power is back on and the library is on normal hours again. (WHNT)
