- Incumbent Governor Kay Ivey and Senator Ted Cruz are set to make stops in Huntsville today. They will host events back-to-back, with Ivey’s campaign event starting at 11:15, and Cruz headlining a Mo Brooks’s campaign event starting at 12:30. (WHNT/WHNT)
- Helping Animals Without Shelter (HAWS) is hosting a pet welfare event June 4. It will be at Tractor Supply on Memorial Parkway. There will be free one-month flea treatment, free and low-cost food and preventative options, and resources for spay/neuter and training for those that qualify. The event is set to start at 10 a.m. (GHHS)
- Yolanda Flowers, a candidate for governor, failed to file her financial disclosures by the deadline. The documents have since been filed, but her campaign will still face fines, penalties, and fees once John Merril’s team investigates the situation fully. (WHNT)
- An alligator was blocking a road in Huntsville Friday night. The gator was found on Haysland Road close to Grissom. (WAFF)
- Downtown Rescue Mission is in need of donations. With the prices of gas and groceries being high right now, donation levels have dropped. Their greatest needs are water bottles, canned goods, non-perishable items, and monetary donations to fund the building as the heat rises.
