Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Starting Monday, Madison City Schools will be transitioned to a “mask preferred” policy. Masking will still be required on buses. (WAFF)
  2. A TikTok challenge has made it into schools in the Tennessee Valley. The “Devious Licks” challenge has caused a series of thefts in middle and high schools, including soap and toilet paper dispensers in Madison City Schools. (WAFF)
  3. Mayor Battle and financial leaders in the city presented a budget of $245 million to the Huntsville City Council Thursday night. This includes money earmarked for HEMSI for the first time, new city positions, and new police officer positions. (WHNT)
  4. 115 Clinton Street, former home of Pints and Pixels, Crossroads, and UG White, has been sold. As of now, the buyer is not public, so I don’t know what is coming, but I’ll let you know when I find out! (AL.com)
  5. YKTA, one of the suppliers at the Mazda Toyota Plant, has started production! They have been working since 2019 to get ready for production at the plant, and will start by producing parts for the new Toyota Corolla Cross. (WAFF)
