  1. Dr. Amit, Vivek, and Rahul Arora donated $105,000 to UAH for a new yearly lecture series in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences that will focus on South Asian topics. The brothers have made the donation to honor their father on his 80th birthday, so it will be called the Dr. Mulk R. Arora Endowed Lecture in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.   2. Madison County Schools has introduced a new emergency alert system. The new system involves each classroom having a button that can be used if the teacher or a student has a medical emergency, it can be used for severe weather, and to essentially shut the school down in an emergency situation to lessen the time it takes to put the school on lockdown.   3. The Huntsville Park & Rec after school program's registration portal is now open. The program will start August 8 and will offer homework time, snacks, and activities for the kids. (WZDX)
  4. The North Precinct with the Huntsville Police Department is hosting a community bash to celebrate the end of summer. There will be food, inflatables, games, and kids will be given a backpack. It will be tomorrow at the Dr. Robert Shurney Legacy Center from 6-8 p.m. (WHNT News 19)
  5. A woman from Athens has been declared missing, and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is looking for leads. Katie Lee Harbin, age 21, was last seen on July 25 near Flanagan Road around 1:30 p.m. (WHNT News 19)
