Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Madison City Schools has the most National Merit Semifinalists in the state. Bob Jones High School alone produced 19 recognized students, the second-highest total for any individual school in Alabama. James Clemens High School had 13 students, which gives them the fifth-highest total in the state. (themadisonrecord.com)
  2. Thomas Blake Tucker, teacher and coach at East Limestone High School teacher, has been charged with engaging in sexual relations with a student under the age of 19. He has since been released on a $30,000 bond. (WAAY)
  3. Tomorrow is the municipal election runoff in Huntsville. The two seats up for a vote are District 2 City Council (Bill Yell vs David Little) and District 3 School Board (Andrea Alverez vs Angela McClure). Polls will be open between 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. (WHNT News 19)
  4. Saturday marked the 29th annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Ride. Thousands of bikers joined together at the North Alabama/ Tennessee state line to head to Oklahoma to remember our history. (WHNT News 19)
