Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- With the entire state of Alabama out of ICU beds, Huntsville Hospital’s ICU is one of the locations that is actually over their ICU capacity. They are being forced to treat patients that need to be in the ICU in other parts of the hospital. (WHNT)
- Mike Blakely's sentence has been changed. The judge provided no reason for amending his sentence. He is no longer required to serve unsupervised probation after his jail time, and he is currently on bond awaiting an appeal. (WAAY)
- Huntsville Hospital is prepared to offer the third vaccine dose to the immunocompromised population. You can have your doctor write you a prescription or tell the vaccine location. The third dose is not considered a booster, but an additional dose. (WHNT)
- Drake State has received a $75,000 grant for their LPN program. This money will allow them to offer scholarships and other tools to make this program more financially accessible. (WZDX)
- Lockheed Martin hosted the Australian ambassador to the U.S. at their Huntsville location Thursday. This gave them an opportunity to discuss Lockheed’s support of Australia’s sovereign guided weapons establishment. (Yellowhammer News)
