Here are the top five stories in Huntsville today:
- Eric Swalwell, the House member from California suing Mo Brooks of Huntsville after the January 6 Capitol riot, was able to serve Brooks with the lawsuit. Brooks has confirmed that he was served and alleges that Swalwell’s team snuck into his home illegally and approached his wife aggressively. (Yellowhammer)
- North Alabama has a severe lack of donated blood in the bank. Usually, they are able to get blood from areas, but nobody has any to spare. Hospitals in the area like to keep a 3-5 day supply, but according to Zak Sos, LifeSouth has less than a two-day supply on their shelves right now. (WHNT)
- Three members of the staff of UAH’s College of Nursing have been chosen as part of the 70 Visionary Leaders. This list is of UAB Nursing alumni for their 70th anniversary. (UAH)
- The City of Athens held their annual Earth Day and Outdoor Expo that was postponed in April. The event was this weekend at Big Spring Memorial Park. Vendors offered earth-friendly products, there was a petting zoo, and a local author reading her book. (WHNT)
- The North Alabama Soccer Coalition had their two new teams launch Saturday at their first game. They have a new team in the Women’s Premier Soccer League, and a new men’s team in the National Premier Soccer League. (WHNT)
