Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Last night, there was a bomb threat against law enforcement officers that shut down I-65 just south of the Tennessee River Bridge. The suspect was apprehended, but SWAT and bomb investigators responded to the scene because of the threat type. (AL.com)
- Madison County had a record number of visitors last year at 3.7 million. This is a 1.5 times growth from 2020, and made Madison County the third most visited county, after Jefferson and Baldwin. (WZDX)
- There was a pro-choice rally in Huntsville on the 4th of July that drew in hundreds of advocates. There were also women’s rights groups, LGBTQ+ supporters, Black Lives Matters supporters and one pro-life person in attendance. (WAAY)
- A water main broke yesterday around 10 a.m. on West Arbor Drive NW. It has been repaired as of writing, but if you’re still having issues, make sure to report them to Huntsville Utilities at (256)535-4448. (WHNT)
