Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

1. Handel's Ice Cream is opening a second location in Jones Valley with their new ownership! The new owners reopened the original Huntsville location last June and will own the new location as well. (WZDX)
2. Gurley’s new recreation center is open! The building is situated near the senior center, so it will provide an exercise outlet for seniors on top of its other uses. (WHNT)
3. Christmas trees are going to be more expensive in the Valley this year. Last year’s demand for trees in the area meant trees were essentially taken from this year’s stock and more will have to be transported in from other areas. This drives the cost up for trees in the Valley, but make sure to support local businesses that are planning to take a loss so you can get a tree, like Trim-A-Tree in Athens! (WHNT)
4. Another apartment fire has caused damage to several units in the building. Four units were involved in the fire on Royal Drive, but there were no injuries. (WAFF)
