Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Two UAH research centers, the Information Systems and Technology Center and the Rotorcraft Systems Engineering and Simulation Center. will be used to help the Cooperative Institute for Research to Operations in Hydrology (CIROH). This new group, comprised of 28 academic institutions, will help predict hazards that are water-related and manage the country’s water. (Yellowhammer News)
- Oakwood University and Alabama A&M made it to the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Quarterfinals. Alabama A&M was edged out by Tuskegee, but Oakwood beat Dillard and will compete again today against Kentucky State at 5 p.m. (WHNT, Honda)
- HPD officers were led on a car chase Saturday night. The driver allegedly refused to pull over for a traffic stop around Airport Road and the chase ended near Huntsville Hospital when stop sticks were deployed. There were no injuries reported and the driver is in custody. (WAFF)
- Athens State hosted the 99th Annual Alabama Academy of Science Meeting in March. Several students competed with others from around the state, and six Athens students received first and second prizes in their fields. (News Courier)
