Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Athens City Schools donated the armored vehicle that sat outside what is now Athens Middle School to the Alabama Veterans Museum. The vehicle was donated to the school in the 70s, when it was a high school, to the JROTC. (News Courier)
  2. Panoply 2022 will be the 40th anniversary of the start of the festival, and it will be back in full swing since the start of the pandemic. Music acts, ticket prices and other details have now been released, along with this year’s incredible poster art! (AL.com)
  3. A UAH team made it to the finals in the University Rover Challenge. The team will compete again in June in Utah for the finals, where the rover will have to carry out four mission types in the Utah sands. (WAAY)
  4. Geeks and Nerds is planning a $5 million expansion to Research Park! This would create around 100 jobs. The City of Huntsville voted to approve a project development agreement between the city and the company Thursday. (AL.com)
  5. Uncorked Wine Shop and Tasting Room’s owner Saranne Riccio is suing Governor Ivey over the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. Riccio says she lost around $55,000 in business when stores like hers were forced to close down during the stay at home order before being allowed to reopen with limited occupancy. (WHNT)
