- Students in Madison County were first in the state in the Reflections fine arts contest. The competition is hosted by the PTA and students from K4-12 were invited to participate. (themadisonrecord.com)
- May is Huntsville Historic Preservation Month, and it's all about “Saving Places.” There will be events featuring places downtown with rich history. (WZDX)
- Alabama A&M University has installed their 12th president, Dr. Daniel K. Wims. His predecessor is President Andrew Hugine, who served as president from 2009-2021. (WZDX)
- The latest public art installation, a statue called “Travelers II,” has been installed at Big Spring Park. The art refers to indigenous peoples that traveled through Big Spring Park, and its shape calls to ring ‘travelers’ that were used in cotton spinning. (WAFF)
- Mayor Battle has stated he wants to hire the new police chief from within current leadership. Some council members have spoken out about their desire to see the candidate roster be more diverse than leadership is currently. (AL.com)
