Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- Due to gas smells at Athens High School, they were temporarily evacuated Tuesday, and went virtual yesterday while gas lines are tested and all gas to the building has been turned off. They will remain virtual today, Friday, August 26 while the lines continue to be tested. The eLearning day only applies to the high school. (WAAY)
- HuntsvilleMusic.com is now the place to get all the latest news and updates from the Huntsville music scene! Out of all of the features the site offers, the biggest one is the community music calendar that aims to be a comprehensive spot for all of the music events around the city, with the ability for registered users to add their own events too. - The Huntsville Parks & Recreation Department has decided to add new options for fall break on top of their all-day camps! They will now have three specialty camps: soccer, basketball, and art. They will be $25 per child. For soccer, kids will need sneakers, a soccer ball, and gym shoes. Basketball participants need to wear gym clothes and shoes. Kids in the art camp will have art supplies provided. These camps will not be full-day camps, and registration for them opens August 30. (Patch Press Release Desk)
- The Huntsville Ghost Walk is headed back in September to start off its 14th year of spooking Huntsville residents! The three tours, Old Town Historic District, Twickenham Historic District, and Downtown Huntsville, will all feature a good bit of walking and will take place even in light rain. They start at 6:00 p.m. and cost $10 per adult and $5 per child for tickets. (WHNT News 19)
