  1. The Toyota Manufacturing Plant in Huntsville has been announced to be the sole manufacturer in North America for the engine in the new Toyota Tundra. This means they will be adding about 450 new jobs to the Rocket City, so if you’re looking for a plant job, check it out! (WTVA)
  2. Huntsville Police Department K-9 Halo (AKA “Lenny”) is retiring after spending the last six years serving the city! Lenny has won several awards in his time on the force and is looking forward to living out his days with his partner, Officer Higgins. (WAFF)
  3. The Madison County Democratic Party members have elected a new vice chair. Latoya Osborne comes in with experience in the legal and defense industries, and will bring in her work with communication within an organization and their stakeholders. (themadisonrecord.com)
  4. Madison City Schools Superintendent Dr. Nichols gave more of an inside look into why the system went to a “mask preferred” status after parents weren’t happy. According to Dr. Nichols, most students are still masking by choice, and while he feels good about his decision, has said that if the numbers go back up he won’t hesitate to reinstate a mandate. (WAAY)
  5. Tennessee Riverkeeper, Inc. has filed an intent to sue the City of Huntsville. This would be under the Clean Water Act and the Alabama Pollution Control Act due to continuous violations of sewage water overflowing into the river. (WHNT)
