  1. Mayor Battle introduced a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2023 to the Huntsville City Council last night. The budget includes $18.1 million for road resurfacing, funding for 19 new fire and rescue positions and 19 police positions, and a new fire station in the western corridor. The council is expected to vote on the budget on September 22. (Patch Press Release Desk)
  2. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebratory walk will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the new Weatherly Multi-Use Path. This addition to the greenway network will help connect Aldridge Creek Greenway and Weatherly Road to South Memorial. (Patch Press Release Desk)
  3. Details for the 2022 Huntsville
  4. Christmas Parade have been announced! The parade will be December 8 at 6 p.m. and the theme this year is “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Registration is open now and will remain open until November 1. (WAFF)
  5. Huntsville City Schools has announced a partnership with Calhoun Community College and Drake State Community and Technical College. Each HCS high school will receive two scholarships, one for each community college. Seniors will be chosen to receive the scholarships, giving 12 high school seniors the ability to start college with financial help. The scholarships will cover education and tuition costs for a full year. (Huntsville City Schools)
