Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- There was a fourth grader injured yesterday morning at Sonnie Hereford Elementary with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Not much information is being released right now while the investigation is ongoing. The child was said to be stable at the afternoon press conference. (WHNT)
- Challenger Elementary and Middle Schools were evacuated for a bomb threat Friday morning. The police worked with the school system security team to investigate the threat before everyone was allowed back into the buildings to continue the school day. (WHNT)
- An architecture firm is working on designs for the new Fire Station 20. The plan is for the new station to be opened by the end of this year or early next year off of 72 and Burgreen. (WAFF)
- The first Quarterly Music Meetup will be March 3 at Mars Music Hall. This will be the first public event for the new Music Officer, Matt Mandrella. (Patch)
- James Clemens Theatre will be presenting “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Shows will be April 7-9 at the James Clemens Auditorium and tickets will be $10-15. (themadisonrecord.com)
