Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:
- The Downtown Huntsville Public Library is hosting a Smithsonian exhibit called "The Bias Inside Us" until May 21, which aims to help visitors examine their own biases and create an inclusive world. The free exhibition draws from research by Harvard psychologist Mahzarin R. Banaji and University of Washington professor emeritus Anthony G. Greenwald and invites visitors to explore the foundation of bias, how it forms, and how it comes across in everyday life. (Huntsville)
- A Huntsville man has pled guilty to the 2019 shooting and death of his brother. Terryous Crutcher was sentenced to 15 years in prison and is currently imprisoned on a four-year drug charge. Crutcher will serve his sentences consecutively in northern Alabama. (Spot On Alabama)
- Meridian Arts Club, a reboot of the A.M. Booth's Lumberyard in Huntsville, has been delayed once again, likely to 2024, due to stalled construction. The project was initially scheduled to open in the summer of 2022 and then pushed to the spring of 2023. Ryan Murphy, managing director with TVG and Orion Amphitheater, stated that they are still involved in the project and reworking the construction timeline and pricing to get it back on track.
