Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Fishing teams from Grissom High School competed in the Alabama Student Anglers Bass Fishing Association state championship in June and took home first and second, qualifying them for the upcoming Bassmaster High School National Championship. The competition will be August 11-13 in Anderson, South Carolina with around 275 teams. (Huntsville City Schools)
- A new industrial park is being planned off of Greenbriar Parkway. Fairway Investments and Triad Properties are working together to create the Huntsville West Industrial Park which will house various facilities for manufacturing and distribution. They plan to start working on infrastructure this fall. (WAFF)
- Huntsville’s new skate park is on track with ground broken and construction started! The goal is to open by next spring, and it is currently halfway funded. (WHNT News 19)
- The annual Space and Military Defense Symposium is set to kick off Monday night at the Von Braun Center with a reception. Space Command’s Commanding General James Dickenson is set to give a brief during the three-day event. (AL.com)
